VMEbus Video Insertion Generators

Video Insertion Generator, Model 6191, Inserts A/N characters and graphics into RS170, NTSC or PAL video. When installed the unit has the following features:

• Generates and inserts up to 30 lines (RS-170/NTSC) or 34 lines (CCIR/PAL) of 32 or 64 characters per line
• Generates and inserts a fixed crosshair.
• Generates and inserts two movable/sizable symbols which may be selected as either closed box tracking gates or crosshairs.
• Generates and inserts left edge encoded data.
• Resolution of inserted video is fixed at 640 x 240 pixels (for RS-170/NTSC) or 640 x 288
• The VIG is wholly contained on one dual high (6U) VME card.
• The 6191 can be user configured as a functionally equivalent replacement for the ITS models 9891A, 9891B, 9938 or 9938A with expanded function capabilities.

Video Scanline Encoder, Model 6020, Inserts up to 1026 bytes of scanline encoded data per field into standard 525 line RS170 or NTSC video. Also inserts up to 960 A/N characters and boresight reticle. Generates and inserts error correction code and LLRC, 6U configuration.

Dual Mode Video Data Encoder Model 6072, Simultaneously encodes data in both scanline and left edge formats into RS170 or NTSC video. Also inserts up to 30 rows of 32 A/N characters or 30 rows of 64 A/N characters, selectable. Inserts boresight reticle, 6U configuration.

Video Scanline, Decoder/Digitizer Model 6073, Decodes scanline encoded data such as that generated by Model 6020. Generates/inserts movable reticle used to digitize points of interest within viewed scene, 6U configuration.

IRIG Processor/Video Inserter, Model 6030, Decodes serial IRIG B time signal and inserts time message directly into applied RS170 or NTSC video. Once time is established, a loss of IRIG signal will cause the 6030 to automatically switch to a internal real time clock which will increment the time display until the IRIG signal is re-acquired. Time may also be read via VMEbus.

Generates and inserts up to 960 A/N characters, movable crosshair, and fixed boresight reticle.

The 6030 is contained in a dual high 6U VME card and occupies a single 0.8 inch slot.

Model 6030A - As above, except operates with CCIR/PAL video.

IRIG Processor/Video Inserter/Video Data Encoder, Model 6090, a multifunction IRIG B time decoder and video character and graphics insertion generator. Features include:

• Decodes and synchronizes to an IRIG B time code signal and inserts a time message.
• Inserts up to 31 bytes of Left Edge Encoded data per field.
• Generates and inserts two independent movable crosshair/reticle symbols.
• Generates and inserts a fixed "Boresight" reticle.
• Generates and inserts up to 30 lines of 32 or 64 characters per line, selectable size, font and insertion modes via bus.
• Automatically synchronizes with composite RS-170 or NTSC video input, no external sync required.

The 6090 is a memory mapped slave subsystem operating on the VME bus. The IRIG B time code is decoded and the Time Message is inserted into the applied video signal (both A/N characters and edge encoded) without bus involvement. All other message generation and symbol positioning is controlled by via the VME bus. Additionally the IRIG B time may be read via the bus. Once time is established, a loss of IRIG signal will cause the 6090 to automatically switch to a internal real time clock which will increment the time display until the IRIG signal is re-acquired. Text annotation can be user selected as 15 or 30 lines of either 32 or 64 characters per line. The Left Edge encoding includes automatic error correction code generation.

The characteristics of the movable Reticle/crosshair symbols are fully programmable via the bus. Format examples include crosshair, box, inner/outer-crosshair/box combination, dashed/solid lines etc.

IRIG Processor/Video Synchronizer, Model 6036, Generates CCIR/PAL composite and horizontal and vertical sync which is synchronized with an applied IRIG B serial time signal. Provides precise synchronization of CCIR or PAL video cameras when connected to common IRIG source. IRIG Time may also be read via VMEbus, 6U configuration.

IRIG Processor/Video Synchronizer, Model 6040, Generates NTSC composite and horizontal and vertical sync which is synchronized with an applied IRIG B serial time signal. Provides precise synchronization of NTSC color cameras when connected to common IRIG source. IRIG Time may also be read via VMEbus, 6U configuration.

Model 6040A. -As above, except synchronizes RS170 video with IRIG B time signal.
