In general, ITS policy is to support any product manufactured by this organization or by ITS’ predecessor ITC, for as long as these products are in service. The 9891A and 9938 are 15-year-old designs and use several components that have since become obsolete. We made a large “last buy” of those components several years ago, which at the current use rate will last until the end of 2002. One year ago, in anticipation of the diminishing supply of components for these units and other boards that use the obsolete components, a design project was initiated to develop a replacement unit that is form, fit and functionally identical. The result is the Model 6191, which is now available. This assembly has on board DIP switches by which you can select any variation of the ITS Models 9891A, 9891B, 9938 or 9938A. including: 9891A

9938A When a model type is selected, the board becomes an exact replacement of that model and can be installed in any system that uses it, with no hardware or software modification. Additionally, if desired, the configuration may be set to enable the features of two or more models. For instance, the features of the models 9891A and 9938 may be enabled simultaneously, which would provide a single board solution where two boards were previously required. We will be phasing out the above boards in favor of the 6191 during the first quarter of 2002; although we will be maintaining material in stock to support the installed units for the foreseeable future.
